Ken Shook was born in Ohio and lived as a child in the Chicago suburb of Homewood. He now resides in the Quad Cities with his wife and their family. Ken has traveled extensively, gaining knowledge and experience in the use of many different styles of plastering. In 2003, Ken studied the intricacies of Italian and Venecian Plaster with the most reknowned American school of Italian plaster. In 2004, Ken has added to his formal training by studying in Verona, Italy with Safra, the highly respected historic plaster and decorative finish manufacturer. In 2005, Ken participated in a workshop held by Jennifer Carrasco in Los Angeles, California where he learned how to paint frescoes in the Illusionistic Style found in Herculaeum and Pompeii.
